How do we collect your data?
For people signing the contract
We collect email address and some rough profiling data, age range, gender and postal code.
This is based on a balance of interests for our legitimate interests to conduct advocacy and opinion formation in favor of the Baltic Sea environment and to send out the newsletters that you as a contract signatory request.

Cookies
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and disappears when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also create several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days and screen option cookies last for one year. If you choose “Remember me”, your login will be retained for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is stored in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
How long do we keep your data?
Our business is long-term and we keep personal data as long as our contract benefits the Baltic Sea. Should any personal data prove to be irrelevant to our activities, it will be deleted.
With whom do we share your data?
We may share your personal data with IT service providers as part of our development work. We will then ensure that relevant data processing agreements are in place.
Where do we process your data?
We always aim to process your personal data within the EU/EEA. However, in certain situations, such as when we share your information with, for example, an IT provider operating outside the EU/EEA, your personal data may be processed outside the EU/EEA. If and when your data is processed outside the EU/EEA, we ensure that there is an adequate level of protection and that appropriate safeguards are in place (for example, through the use of the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses).
Your rights as a data subject

- Right of access: You have the right to obtain information about what personal data we process about you, including the purpose of the processing and the legal basis for the processing.
- Right to rectification/correction: If you believe that we are processing incorrect personal data about you, you can ask us to correct it.
- Right to restriction of processing: You can request that we restrict the processing of your personal data. This may be relevant, for example, if we have incorrect data about you and you do not want the processing to continue until we have corrected the data.
- Right to erasure / right to be forgotten: You can request that we delete your personal data. Although we will comply with such a request to the extent required by applicable law, please note that despite your request, we may continue to process certain data (such as data that we need to retain to protect our legal interests or that we are required by law to retain).
- Right to object: In the context of processing of personal data based on legitimate interest, you have the right to object to the use of your personal data. If your privacy interests outweigh our interests in processing certain data, we will stop processing such data.
- Right to data portability: You may also have the right to access the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly accepted and machine-readable format, as well as the right to transmit the data to another controller.
